Here's your chance to give it back to the Chamber. What non-deserving award will Terri Cole's outfit decide to give out next, and to whom?
What will the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce’s next award be, and who will it go to?
To a tobacco company for helping prevent cancer?
To Donald Trump for being honest?
To Los Alamos National Laboratory for its excellent safety record?
By now everybody knows that the GACC has decided to give Mayor Richard Berry an excellence in public safety award. It’s a decision that has been universally ridiculed because during Berry’s seven years in office, crime has spiraled out of control and the Albuquerque Police Department has been decimated.
In fact, it’s one of the goofiest and dumbest decisions ever. And a lot of people see it as the Chamber giving the rest of us the finger. Everyone who lives here knows that crime is out of control and that it has happened on Berry’s watch. So why give the guy a public safety award if not to say, “Screw all of you. He’s our guy and we’re going to support him no matter what. The rest of you don’t matter.”
Well, here’s your chance to give it back to the Chamber. What non-deserving award will Terri Cole’s outfit decide to give out next, and to whom?
