Nonstop Service Begins Oct. 24
Frontier Airlines will begin service between Albuquerque and Denver on Oct. 24. The daily, nonstop flight is currently on sale.
Frontier Airlines offers a bundled choice that includes one carry-on bag, one checked bag, best available seat including Stretch and Exit Row options, full refundability when canceled at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure, no change fees and priority boarding, for one price.
Since 2009, the Albuquerque International Sunport has added four airlines with service to three new destinations and expanded options to six existing destinations, which has ultimately led to positive passenger growth. Year-to-date, Sunport traffic is up 2 percent over 2016.
During this same period, the Sunport has remained fiscally responsible, maintained one of the highest bond ratings in the industry for an airport of its size, renovated the entire post-security area of the terminal, and recently began a $30 million renovation project to the pre-security portion of the terminal. Those renovations to the baggage claim, ticketing and curbside areas of the terminal are scheduled for completion in late 2018.
Other major initiatives currently underway at the Sunport are the Aviation Center of Excellence, an 80-acre site near Girard and Gibson that will house aviation related industry and retail/commercial businesses. That project is in phase two of development and will be ready for tenants later this year. Lastly, a $1.3 million project to replace all roadway signage around the airport is underway and is scheduled to be complete by fall.
