ABQ RIDE Detouring For State Fair Parade

Five Bus Routes, Including Two Rapid Ride Routes To Detour For Over Eight Hours

ABQ RIDE’s service along Central Avenue and service that crosses Central Avenue will be diverted for approximately 8½ hours to accommodate the annual New Mexico State Fair Parade. Starting at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, ABQ RIDE’s Central Avenue service will be on detour between San Mateo and Eubank until approximately 2 p.m.

Three ABQ RIDE bus routes that run along Central, #766-Rapid Ride/Red Line, # 777-Rapid Ride/Green Line and #66-Central will be detoured away from Central during this time. Also detouring are routes #157-Montaño/Uptown/Kirtland and #31-Wyoming, which cross Central.

Routes #66 and the #777-Rapid Ride/Green Line going eastbound will be diverted north at San Mateo, then east along Lomas before turning south again on Eubank to resume their regular routes on Central. Going westbound, these buses will be diverted north at Eubank, then west along Lomas before turning south again on San Mateo to resume their regular routes on Central.

The #766 Rapid Ride/Red Line will detour eastbound by going north on San Mateo and east on Lomas to Louisiana. It will continue north on Louisiana to the Uptown Transit Center.

Westbound, the #766 will take a different route by going south on Louisiana to eastbound I-40, where it will then take Wyoming to westbound Lomas. The #766 will then turn south on San Mateo to resume its westbound journey on Central.

The #777-Rapid Ride/Green Line will have temporary stops at the following locations:

Westbound #777:

  • Eubank and Central
  • Lomas and Wyoming
  • Lomas, just west of Louisiana

Resuming regular stops at Central and San Mateo.

Eastbound #777:

  • San Mateo and Central
  • Lomas and Louisiana
  • Lomas and Wyoming

The #766-Rapid Ride/Red Line will have temporary stops at the following locations:
